Aufwind, Germany's top soaring magazine, published my photo on the cover of this summer's issue. This is a great honor as few American photos get published in this fine periodical. The photo is of my pal Dieter Mahlein flying at Oregon's infamous Cape Blanco, October 2004. He is flying his Mark Treibs DS Tempest in strong southerly storm winds. I shot this photo with a Canon E-300 digital SLR with a 100-350 image stabilized lense. The original photo is below the magazine cover. Aufwind is the world's top saorign magazine, and though in German language, its a great read and covers the latest trends in technology coming out of the European flying scene.
